WELCOME TO DE RUST CAMP SITE
Visit De Rust for peace and tranquility - Our resort is well run and supervised by the owner and staff that provide a friendly, clean and well maintained environment. Experience the African Finfoot swimming past you on the river or to add 6 of the seven kingfisher species, including the half collard kingfisher to your personal birding list. A 600yr old Wild Olive and a 450 yr old Karee line the start to the nature trail. Early morning self drives will reward you with a variety of Fauna and Flora including the Big 5.
On the banks of the Pienaarsriver, and within a BIG 5 Game Reserve, De Rust is a peaceful, spacious caravan park, shaded by beautiful indigenous trees. Just 35km from Pretoria, this is the perfect place to come to for a peaceful appreciation of untouched bushveld. Part of the Finfoot Conservancy and home to The Big 5, De Rust also boasts impressive birdlife. To date 280 bird species have been identified, including the rare African Finfoot, the half-collared Kingfisher and the whitebacked night Heron.
FACILITIES
With only 33 stands, this park is exclusively small and yet reasonably priced. It is run by the owner, who personally ensures good service. Each big stand has its own braai, water and 16 amp power supply, and the security here is excellent, with patrolled game fences and a Security entrance gate. Day visitors are not allowed in the park, to ensure it retains its peaceful and safe atmosphere. Small dogs are allowed by prior arrangement.
Our facilities are what set us apart, and we know they'll make your stay with us even more enjoyable.

Donate any amount towards planting an indigenous tree
A substantial size tree for shade to smaller animals during the blistering African sunlight in the afternoon is essential to their and their offspring survival.
Elephant bulls in nature purpose is to make way for grassland and savanna areas. As wildlife conservation areas are shrinking worldwide, it is our duty to ensure their survival. Help us to plant an indigenous tree.
One tree at a time we can help the environment replenish.
The average 100l plant ranges between R500 and R2000 per tree
